What makes this course different?
At JAEFA 814, each of our courses is different for many reasons.
First, you will be taught from an “insider’s” perspective who has no fear of losing their job or suffer repercussions from within the Law enforcement agency, for crossing the Blue Line. We also, are not limited with how much information we can educate you within each session, like an Attorney (which I am not) who doesn’t have time to do this unless you are a client. We can educate anyone using my own previous law enforcement situational experience and my experience studying case law to make complex ideas simple for anyone to understand.
Secondly, all of our courses are different because they incorporate a understanding of laws from a jurisprudence of law. Meaning, some citizens may be familiar with surface level laws, but at JAEFA we go deeper to give you an understanding from the judges interpretation of the state statutes as he or she has applied them to real people in real cases decided by evidence proven or disproven to yield a verdict of guilty or not guilty. This is done by breaking down actual police video stops and case law from actual court cases. So you can see the perspective of the court vs the police officer.
Thirdly, when you finish our sessions you will be equipped to:
. Respond calmly – because you know now responding any other way can add charges, escalate the situation into police brutality or deadly force.
. Recognize when your rights are being violated and what to do during and after you have been let go or been arrested.
. You will understand that your camera and your knowledge of the law is for your defense to prove your innocence and not relying only on the police camera and the police to do right. Because the law allows police officers and Attorneys to lie to a certain extent as long as they are not under sworn oat. But I have seen some of them lie even under oath. They will tamper with evidence, plant evidence, withhold evidence, loose evidence and anything else that will help them win their case.
. You will learn how to respond during your police encounters to help your attorney build a strong case for your defense. Therefore, your attorney wouldn’t be blindsided by your actions on the street that will help the prosecutor build a solid case against you, like: voluntary consent to searches, incriminating testimony during police questioning, not knowing when to invoke your 5th amendment, giving officers reasonable suspicion because of your furtive movements while police officers are questioning you.
